research Areas of active investigation include: control of antidiuretic hormone release, hypertension, neural control of cardiovascular and renal function, transplant outcomes, acute renal failure, and calcium homeostasis.

Clinical studies in nephrology are ongoing in transplantation, chronic kidney disease, calcium management in burn patients and acute renal failure in sepsis, and the Chronic Renal Insufficiency Cohort (CRIC) Study.
